-Noh mask- kumasaka
What materials have been used to make this mask?
- Wood
What processes have been used to create this mask?
- this mask has also been carved and carefully painted for effect by Suzuki Nohjiu. the designer of the mask has also carefully painted gold on the eyes of the mask.
How has the target (performance) group for the mask influenced its design and creation?
-the kumasaka mask represents the face of the thief, or bandit, chief, in Noh Theatre to craete drama for the audience watching the play the mask is used in

-This mask has been influenced by african tribal art. it is also used in ceremonies and tribal rituals.

Summary of Lesson 04/11/10
In Today's Lesson we were introduced to unit 3: artefact. we started our research on the topic and read through the guide. we also researched a man named otto dix who was a man that sketched drawings of gruesome events that took place in the world war in germany.
In the second half of the lesson, we did research on different masks of different cultures on the V&A Website. we also answered a variety of questions which is shown on paper and placed onto our blogs.

- It has been inspired by japanese theatre and a made up imaginary man called hanakobu akujo who the mask is named after and is described as a bumpy nosed fierce man who is full of character and vitality
